One of the most influential – but undersung – artists the Island has ever produced.
Archibald Knox was born 150 years ago this week.
A number of events are taking place to mark the milestone, including the unveiling of a prestigious blue plaque at the address of his former home and studio in Athol Street Douglas.
Meanwhile, a special concert will be held at St German’s Cathedral in Peel this evening with specially commissioned music and talks about Knox.
Culture Vannin will also sponsor an exhibition of his work at Olympia Earls Court in London at the Olympia International Antiques and Art Fair 5th – 15th June. Tickets available from the Archibald Knox Society www.archibaldknoxsociety.com
